If you are an experienced solicitor looking for a career change or a graduate looking for your first training contract, find out more about joining us at Rudlings.

Information about Training and Careers at Rudlings

From the day you join us at Rudlings, you are a valued team member. You can expect to be part of a team that will challenge you, drive your career forward and inspire you to be your best self.

There’s never been a better time to join our firm. We're a fast growing business with big ambitions. If you would like to join us on that journey, get in touch.

Training and development at Rudlings

As a trainee at Rudlings, your learning journey starts from the moment that you join. Working alongside experienced solicitors you will quickly get hands-on experience.

You will also be paired with a mentor who has been previously through our training programme and can support you every step of the way.

We also offer a range of both professional and personal learning experiences, such as recognised legal qualifications, interview skills, management skills and leadership development.

We are incredibly proud of the proven training and development that we  offer at Rudlings. Some of our previous alumni are now partners at our firm after initially joining us on training contracts.

Do Rudlings provide training contracts for graduates?

Are you a law student? Our popular graduate and training scheme offers a great entry into working at a successful law firm.

We are a long-established law firm, and we’re going places! We offer a wide variety of opportunities in a range of legal departments. Whether it is family law, private client or getting involved in our commercial department, we are sure there is something to capture your interest.

From the moment you join our team of experienced lawyers will be by your side, helping you at every step. We carefully assess the level of responsibility we give you, and when you’re ready, you can deliver client-facing work too.

We like our qualified staff to spend one year as a secretary or paralegal with the firm, and after that it’s a 12–18 month training contract.

Our trainees like to stick around. At least 90% of our trainees over the past ten years are still currently with our firm.

Some of our past trainees have become partners at our firm or heads of departments and have established themselves as successful solicitors in their chosen fields.

We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic graduates. If you would like to apply for our training scheme, you can send your CV and cover letter at any time.

Do Rudlings provide a vacation scheme?

The Rudlings vacation scheme provides a first-hand look into what it’s like to work at an established law firm.

What is our vacation scheme?

Every year we welcome students and graduates for a week’s placement on our vacation scheme. It’s your chance to get to know us and get a feel of what it’s like to work in a modern law firm.

It’s also an excellent opportunity for us to get to know you, as we often invite vacation scheme candidates to join our training contract assessment process.

How our vacation scheme works

Our vacation scheme runs for one week during the first two weeks of July, and is open to:

  • Second and third-year undergraduates

  • Graduates

  • Students/graduates of the LPC or GDL

During your placement, you’ll get to work on real cases and work in two or three different departments. You’ll get to see the range of the firm’s work and talk to experienced solicitors about what it’s like to work in their field.

Vacation scheme application deadlines

Details for our summer vacation scheme will be released in October the year prior.
