Richard gained his law degree from Bristol and attended York Law school before returning to Bristol to complete his training.

​

In 1995 Richard moved to Overburys, in Norwich, and became a partner in 1999. At Overbury’s he specialised in Child Care law representing parents and children in both private and public law proceedings and built a team of specialists around him to ensure a high-quality offering to all clients.

In 2013, three Norfolk law firms merged to create Spire solicitors, where he subsequently became Chairperson and Managing partner.

​

Richard and his team joined Rudlings in January 2022. He saw the vision of the young partnership that wanted to grow and develop their business, and to offer a service to clients that exceeded other businesses throughout East Anglia.

Richard is an extremely well respected and experienced childcare lawyer solicitor advocate who is well known through his work across the county.

​

Away from work Richard enjoys playing a variety of sports, supporting the Welsh rugby team, and spending time with his wife and dogs on the beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire.
